Athletic Bilbao announced on Thursday that head coach Ernesto Valverde has extended his contract with the Spanish football club until June 30, 2017.
Accordingly, Valverde will stay with the La Liga side for a fourth consecutive season, reports Efe.
In the current season, Bilbao won their first title in 31 years, the Spanish Super Cup, under the helm of Valverde.
Bilbao are currently in the seventh place in La Liga and have qualified for the Europa League to face Valencia in the last 16.
With this renewal, Bilbao and Valverde put an end to rumours circulating for months about the coach leading either the Spanish national team or Real Madrid.
