A petition was Tuesday filed before the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court seeking compensation for Nepalese nationals who were arrested allegedly in a wrong manner in the 2008 Aarushi-Hemraj double murder in Noida.

The plea said the three Nepalese - who worked as domestic helps - be granted relief for their "unwarranted arrest" and called for "fixing of criminal and administrative responsibility of officers found guilty" of their alleged harassment.

Petitioner Nutan Thakur pleaded before the court that the trio was "made accused by the CBI in an extremely hurried manner", and sought directions for separate probes by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the Central Bureau of India (CBI) to fix responsibility for the alleged harassment of the Nepalese nationals.

Three Nepalese domestic helps - Krishna, Rajkumar and Vijay Mondal - were arrested separately within weeks of the double-murder May 16, 2008.

The CBI arrested Krishna within 13 days of taking over the investigation from police May 31, 2008. Rajkumar was arrested June 14, 2008, and Vijay Mandal July 11, 2008. They got bail in September the same year and some of them went back to their country.

Aarushi, 14, was found murdered at her parents' Noida flat. The body of Hemraj was found the next day on the terrace of the house. The teenager's dentist parents Rajesh and Nupur Talwar are suspects in the case and are both out on bail.
