Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa on Friday said that his party would launch a public connect campaign in the state from June 1 that would culminate in a 1,000-km "padyatra".
"We will launch a public connect programme from June 1. The idea is to apprise the masses about accumulation of disproportionate assets by the Badal family, open conflict of interests due to positions held by them in the government and mounting farm distress and concerns over women safety, especially of Dalits," he said in a statement.
He said that the party was also planning to move the Supreme Court against the Badals.
"We are planning to move the Supreme Court against disproportionate assets acquired by the Badals and the way they are granting favours to family members by allotting them lucrative tenders," Bajwa alleged.
