The Youth Congress and other frontal organisations including the Mahila Congress on Saturday announced the staging of a march on July 20 in the capital against the price rise of essential items in the country.

"The BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi coined the slogan, 'Abki bar, Modi Sarkar'. People thought that he would do something for the nation. But now people are frustrated as there has been four-fold increase in prices of essential commodities," Youth Congress President Amrinder Singh Raja Brar told reporters here.

He said leaders and workers of all frontal organisations of the Congress would join the protest.

Chief of the All-India Mahila Congress Shobha Ozha also lashed out at the Modi government.

"Earlier when the price of 'dal' had reached Rs 70 (during the Congress rule) Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders protested. But now the price is much higher," she said.

"People are now saying that Achhe Din (good times) will only come when Modiji leaves. Jumlas (Rhetoric) don't fill stomachs," she added.
