Ugly scenes were witnessed in the Rajya Sabha Tuesday as Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Naresh Agarwal engaged in a verbal spat.
As members in the upper house raised the issue of the killing of five Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops, Aiyar - a former petroleum minister - questioned if the opposition members were not concerned about gas prices.
In response to this, Agarwal hurled an insult at the MP, which was soon expunged from records by Chairman M. Hamid Ansari.
A furious Aiyar rushed out of his seat towards Agarwal shouting "how dare you call me that".
While he was stopped by other members, angry exchanges took place.
