Actor Henry Cavill, the new on screen 'Superman', had auditioned to play secret agent 007, but says Daniel Craig was a far better choice
The "Man of Steel" actor was upset at missing out on the part after getting down to the final audition, but admits 45-year-old Craig, who has portrayed the iconic charter in "Casino Royale", "Quantum of Solace" and "Skyfall", has been "fantastic" in the role.
"When I wasn't selected for Bond, I was very disappointed," contactmusic.com quoted Cavill as saying.
"I'd turned down a leading role in '300' because it was down to Daniel Craig and me, and auditioning for Bond took all my focus. The choice was between a younger Bond and one closer to his 40s, which is to say, Daniel Craig.
"But I've seen what Daniel did and I think the Bond producers made the right choice. He's fantastic," he added.
