Writers, illustrators, designers, artists, educators, publishers, booksellers and story tellers will explore different ways of creating better content for children in a two-day event that will begin here Aug 25, said organisers.
The 6th edition of "Jumpstart". organised by the German Book Office New Delhi, will take place at India International Centre, and the day-long event is divided into two sections: "Inspiration" and "Perspiration".
The "Inspiration" theme on the first day will have many experts brainstorm on various topics like "The idea of the game of play in children's books" where artists and illustrators will elaborate on the subject; "Innovations in print: Augmented reality and other cool stuff" and "Transmedia storytelling - from life to books to movies to games to apps" to elaborate on how games translate into books, movies and cartoons and vice versa.
The theme for the second day is "Perspiration" and it will have sessions like "Writers' Masterclass" where an author will talk about over key facts about the children's book market, define a shape for children's stories, among others, said the organisers
Then there will be "Illustrators' Masterclass" session and "Transmedia Storytelling Masterclass" that will focus on illustrators and new media respectively.
For the first time, this annual event will make its debut in Bangalore, Aug 28.
The German Book Office New Delhi is a joint venture of the Frankfurt Book Fair and the German foreign office.
