India produced a disciplined bowling to restrict South Africa to a low total in their Group B Champions Trophy clash at The Oval here on Sunday.
The Proteas frittered away a steady start to be all out for 191 runs in 44.3 overs.
Opener Quinton de Kock was the highest scorer among the South African batsmen with 53 runs from 72 balls.
Pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar bagged two wickets each.
Sunday's encounter is a must-win affair for both teams as the winner will qualify for the semi-finals while the other will be knocked out.
