Czech women tennis players lead Italy 2-0 in the Fed Cup semi-final after the two singles matches played here Saturday.
Czech Republic's Lucie Safarova beat Italian Sara Errani 6-4, 6-1 while World No.6 Petra Kvitova beat Camila Giorgi 6-4, 6-2, reports Xinhua.
"Today was a good day. We still need to score one more point to reach the final and it does not matter who will get it," said Czech team captain Petr Pala.
Czech Republic won the Fed Cup in 2011 and 2012 while Italy won it in 2009, 2010 and 2013. This is the fourth time the two teams are meeting in the Fed Cup in the last five years.
