Czech Republic lead Germany 2-0 in Fed Cup final

The Czech Republic took a 2-0 lead over Germany in the women's tennis Fed Cup final here.

On a fast surface at the O2 arena here Saturday, two-time Wimbledon winner and fourth-ranked Petra Kvitova beat 14th-ranked Andrea Petkovic n the opening singles 6-2, 6-4, reports Xinhua.

World No.17 Lucie Safarova doubled the lead in front of her home crowd by beating 10th-ranked Angelique Kerber 6-4, 6-4 in the second singles.

The reversed singles and the doubles will be played Sunday.
