Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung met Home Minister Rajnath Singh here Thursday, a day after his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Ministry officials described it as a "courtesy meeting".

"Since the home minister joined today (Thursday), the lt. governor came to convey his best wishes," a home ministry official told IANS.

However, Jung is understood to have briefed Singh on the present political situation in Delhi which has been under President's rule since Feb 17.

On Feb 14, Arvind Kejriwal of AAP resigned as the chief minister after stalling of Jan Lokpal bill in the assembly.

Jung, on Feb 17, recommended imposition of President's rule in Delhi and that the assembly be kept under suspended animation.
