Delhi Metro said Thursday it will start services at 4.30 a.m. Friday to facilitate the movement of people on Independence Day.
On normal days, the services start at 6 a.m.
A Delhi Metro official said complimentary passes will be available for commuters going to Kashmere Gate and Chandni Chowk stations to attend the main Independence day function at the Red Fort.
But parking of vehicles have been banned at Metro stations till 2 p.m. Friday.
Delhi Metro has five lines -- apart from the Airport Express route that will maintain normal timings Friday. The Metro ferries around 24 lakh people on weekdays.
