The Delhi Metro on Saturday stopped train services twice following the massive earthquake that struck Nepal.

Tremors were felt in many parts of India, including the national capital.

"First tremors felt at 11.42 a.m. and trains were stopped from 11.42 a.m. to 11.52 a.m. Second tremors felt at 12.18 p.m. and trains were stopped from 12.18 p.m. to 12.23 p.m.," a Delhi Metro spokesperson said.

"Currently, trains are running perfectly fine," the spokesperson added.

The earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale had its epicentre in Nepal's Lamjung district, some 75 km from Kathmandu.
