Delhi Police constable killed in accident

A 25-year-old Delhi Police constable was killed in a road accident when the motorcycle he was riding pillion on was hit by a municipal corporation garbage truck, police said Sunday.

The motorcycle rider was injured but is said to be out of danger.

The incident took place around 10 p.m. Saturday in Model Town area of north Delhi when constable Ajendra, who joined Delhi Police in 2010, was returning home from duty on a motorcycle he had taken a lift on.

Ajendra was posted at the Model Town police station.

The motorcyclist and Ajendra had just gone a few metres when the garbage truck hit them. Truck driver Rinku has been arrested.
