"The government would not allow discoms to leave the consumers in lurch by effecting power cuts in the extreme winter season. This is causing inconvenience to the customers," Dikshit said in a statement.

People have been facing power cuts for the past few days.

Several residents welfare associations have complained of load shedding in their respective areas.

The chief minister has asked the discoms to ensure round-the-clock power supply and said there is no shortage of electricity.

She has instructed the power department to inform her and the chief secretary if the power cuts continue in the city.
