The total number of dengue cases in the capital has reached 12,531 with 32 deaths reported so far, municipal authorities here said on Monday.
According to the statistics collected till October 17 by the municipal corporation, areas under the South Delhi Municipal Corporation have recorded 2,659 dengue cases -- the highest in Delhi -- while areas under East Delhi Municipal Corporation have recorded the lowest number of cases with 1,551 cases. The North Delhi Municipal Corporation recorded 2,638 cases.
A total of 2,280 dengue cases were recorded in the last one week -- comparatively less than 3,077, the number recorded in the first week of this month.
The official toll of dengue in the capital stood at 32. However, the unofficial deaths confirmed by the various hospitals stood at 85.
The first dengue-related death in the capital was recorded on August 5.
