A total of 47 inmates of the Dasna Jail who developed a skill in sewing in a programme conducted by sewing machine manufacturer Singer India Ltd in association with Rotary Club of India were awarded diploma certificates on Sunday, an official said.
Jail Superintendent Dadihar Morya said that Singer India, and the Rotary Club conducted the six month training programme in sewing skills for the jail inmates in which these 47 picked up skills.
"After the diplomas awarded to them, they would be able financially sustain themselves either through jobs or self employment," he added.
