It's been 12 years since Karan Johar's "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" hit the big screen. The filmmaker says it was his father Yash Johar's favourite movie, while the film's lead actor Shah Rukh Khan thanked the whole team for making it a success.

The family drama stars a stellar cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor.

"12 years of K3G, my dad's favourite movie...he always cried when he saw it, and said 'Shah Rukh and Amitabh Bachchan reminded him of his dad and him'," Karan shared on microblogging site Twitter Saturday.

Shah Rukh, who played Rahul in the movie, had a lot of people to thank.

"This one has a big thank you list...Amit ji, Jaya ji, Hrithik, Kareena, Kajol, Yashji, Faridaji (Farida Jalal), grannies, fainting Karan and all phew! 'K3G'- a dozen years," tweeted the superstar.

The film released Dec 14, 2001. It spoke about family values and the tragic feeling of loss when loved ones part ways. Based on relationships, the movie was loved both in India and overseas as well.

'Gunday' trailer delights at DIFF

The trailer of Yash Raj Film's "Gunday" impressed the audience at the decennial edition of the Dubai International Film festival (DIFF). The launch was attended by the film's cast Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra as well as the director Ali Abbas Zafar.

The trailer launch was followed by an 'In Conversation With Gunday' session between the cast and the director where they spoke about the making of the film.

The film's trailer gives a clear glimpse the rustic look of its actors, rugged settings equipped with power packed dialogues and action sequences. Priyanka, in her elegant yet raw avatar of a cabaret dancer, fits well in the love triangle which is reflected clearly through the trailer.

Based in Calcutta during its most unsettled times in the 1970s, the film shows the changing face of friendship.

Produced by Aditya Chopra, "Gunday" will release Feb 14, 2014.

Aamir open to Marathi films

Bollywood actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan says he is open to do Marathi films as long as the scripts offered to him are interesting.

"I can get along well with Marathi. If I get a good script, why not," he said here.

"Language has never been a barrier for me. I have learnt Marathi, so it will help my Marathi (speaking skills), but that's not why I will do a Marathi film. The material has to excite me," he added.

On the Bollywood front, Aamir will next be seen in "Dhoom: 3", releasing Dec 20.
