Indian drug major Dr Reddy's Laboratories on Friday announced it would sell Progesterone capsules in the US market for therapeutic treatment of cardiovascular disorders, breast cancer and probable dementia.
"The generic capsules, approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), are a therapeutic equivalent version of Prometrium," said the city-based pharma company in a regulatory filing on the BSE.
Prometrium is a registered trademark of Abbvie Products LLC in the US.
"The capsules in 100mg and 200mg will be sold in bottle count size of 100," added the filing.
According to the healthcare industry information, services and technology provider IMS Health, the Prometrium brand and its generic capsules had sales valued at $153 million across the US in 12 months ending February.
