A project to allow students of Korean Studies at Delhi University to directly access books, journals, magazines and DVDs from the National Library of Korea in Seoul has been launched, an official statement said Monday.
The project, "Window on Korea," is a partnership between Delhi University and the National Library of Korea.
"The Korean Cultural Centre has donated around 3,000 books for the library, 10 computers, digital material, book cases, display boards, reading room chairs and 10 book racks so students can learn about the rich culture of Korea," said Joon-gyu Lee, ambassador of the Republic of Korea in New Delhi.
The Department of East Asian Studies of Delhi University introduced Korean Studies and Korean language in the academic year 2001-02 with a collection of 2,000 books on Korea.
"'Window on Korea' is a platform where scholars of Korean Studies can have direct access to the National Library. This new age digitalisation of studies will be beneficial for the students who will gain easy access to the network of Korea," Dinesh Singh, vice chancellor of Delhi University, said.
