State-owned Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) on Friday rubbished reports of a possible takeover of its Raghunathpur thermal power plant in West Bengal by NTPC Ltd.
"The Raghunathpur plant is still with us. It (NTPC takeover of Raghunathpur project) is a rumour," DVC chairman Andrew W.K. Langstieh told media persons to a query about the possibility of the acquisition.
He said the plant is on track and the company has got 80 acres for a rail corridor.
In May, this year it was reported that state-run NTPC will be taking over the project and the power ministry was brokering an arrangement for the same.
Earlier, NTPC chairman Arup Roychowdhury had said his company will seek its board's approval for a complete takeover of the project in West Bengal's Purulia district.
