Oscar nominated actor Matthew McConaughey may have recently received critical appreciation for his role in "Dallas Buyers Club", but he says he isn't afraid of stepping out of his comfort zone by making the leap to the small screen.
In the new TV drama "True Detective", which has eight episodes, McConaughey plays Detective Rust Cohle.
He recently made it clear that it's not a step back to take on a TV role, reports entertainmentwise.com.
"That taboo, that bridge from movie to television is sort of a wash now. There's arguably been some better dramas on the small screen for awhile," he said.
"So I read Nick Pizzolatto's first two scripts of eight episodes. The quality was so obvious, I didn't have a hesitation. I would've had a hesitation if this was a series where you have to come back.
"We had a contract for this finite series, basically a 450 page script and the quality was so good that I didn't hesitate at the fact that it was small screen at all," he added.
