Indian exporters need to diversify to other global markets and not focus merely on the eurozone, an official said here on Friday.

"The eurozone comprises of 18-19 percent of the exports. We want our exporters to look for opportunities in other markets as well and take advantage of the free trade agreements," director general of foreign trade Pravir Kumar said at an event here organised jointly by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Federation of Indian Exports Organisation.

He said exporters can tap the markets in Latin America, CIS nations and Africa.

The official also said although there are resource constraints, the country's foreign trade department is passing over the money it is receiving from the union commerce ministry as incentives to the exporters.

"The revenue department is working on a process of a single window clearance to ease the process for exporters," he said, emphasising that the central government is keen to facilitate ease of doing business for the exporters.

The official, however, said some of the core exports categories from the country is showing concerns which needs to be addressed.

He said his department has developed an app on the android platform last month which provides information and services to the users. The app will be extended to other platforms as well.

"It is our aim to make the process 90 percent paperless," Kumar said.
