Reigning I-League champion Bengaluru FC and Mohun Bagan were drawn in the same group while East Bengal and Dempo SC have been pitted against each other in the Federation Cup draw held here Thursday.
Ten teams have been divided into two groups with the top-2 from each advancing to the semi-finals. The tournament, to be played in Goa, begins Dec 28 with Mumbai FC taking on Royal Wahingdoh and Bengaluru FC playing Salgaocar SC.
The final will take place Jan 10, 2015. Group A matches will take place in Margao's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium while Group B matches will be held at Vasco's Tilak Maidan.
"Football stays an integral part of Goa. This tournament will go a long way in further popularising the sport in the country," All India Football Federation (AIFF) vice-president Ankur Dutta said.
