Turkish football club Fenerbahce Chairman Aziz Yildirim was fined for threatening a referee in a critical league game last week.
Yildirim got a 100-day deprivation of rights as chairman and a fine of 46,500 Turkish liras from the Turkish Football Federation on Tuesday, reports Xinhua.
The ruling by the federation's discipline council came after Yildirim allegedly threatened the referee of last week's match between Fenerbahce and Suat Altin Insaat Kayseri Erciyesspor. Title contenders Fenerbahce suffered a critical tie against Kayseri Erciyesspor, straining its chances for a league-high 20th championship in Turkish Super league.
Third place team Besiktas was fined 50,000 Turkish liras over its fans' offensive chants during a match last week.
