A foreigner, believed to be a Finnish national, was arrested by the local police Monday after he could not produce valid travel papers or identification documents.

A police spokesperson said that Petri S. Huttunen has been booked under relevant sections of the Passport Act and the Foreigners Order act.

"He was residing in Siolim (a picturesque riverside village in north Goa) without any travel papers. He did not have a passport either," a police spokesperson said.

Goa is a popular beach tourism destination for domestic as well as international travellers.
