Five people have been arrested in the capital with 43 illegal pistols, police said Sunday.
Khilafat Ali and Dinesh Gawane from Madhya Pradesh were arrested July 12 from Anand Vihar area here, while Devendra and Dharmendra from Uttar Pradesh were arrested July 18 from Dhaula Kuan area in Delhi. A total of 30 pistols have been recovered from their possession.
During interrogation, they told police that the weapons were being smuggled from Madhya Pradesh's Khargone, Barwani and Khandwa areas to Delhi.
They also said that another peddler, Arun, reached Delhi with illegal firearms July 19. He was arrested from Sarai Kale Khan area.
Police have recovered 13 pistols from Arun.
