Five members of a criminal gang were arrested from a building's site office here, as they were planning another robbery, police said Monday.

The criminals arrested Sunday ahead of their robbery attempt were identified as Arjun Singh of Rohtas district (Bihar), Vinod alias Kala of Jhajjar district (Haryana) besides Ram Bahadur, Vimal and Umesh Yadav (all from Jhapa district in Nepal).

"All five were arrested from an electrical store room of an under-construction site of DLF near Hayatpur village," Gurgaon Police Commissioner Alok Mittal told mediapersons.

"The criminals, arrested by Crime Branch sector 10 chief Sanjeev Balhara and his team, are involved in 15 incidents of loot, robbery and vehicle theft in Gurgaon," Mittal said.

"A country-made pistol and several sharp weapons were recovered from their possession," the top cop said.

"They were planning to rob companies located near the under-construction Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway in Gurgaon area after taking security guards hostage. We are grilling them on police remand," he added.
