Flaunt expressions of life on footwear

Want to step out in style? How about slipping into footwear with various colourful expressions of life hand-painted on them?

Ederra brand's new collection titled 'Expression' consists of expressions of life hand-painted on the handcrafted heels and ballet flats in black and nude shades.

"While designing this new collection, my main motive was to fuse art and design together. 'Expression' is the projection of colours painted on the black and nude canvases of shoes," Saloni Handa, fashion Consultant, Ederra told IANS.

"My idea was to design a range of shoes that can be used on daily basis and also could be teamed up with elegance at different occasions. These are international as well as Indian ethnic, themed shoes," she added.

Her main inspiration was the art of making portraits.

"Even though all the designs are abstract, still the portraits can be related to various expressions by everyone and anyone. Creating portraits is a highly technical and difficult skill, and I have been always inspired by it. I wanted to somehow incorporate portraits in my designs and here we are," she said.
