Flying Elephant Animation Contest of Toonz goes global

Leading animation major Toonz Animation for the first time has decided to invite international entries for the third edition of Flying Elephant Animation Contest for animators.

The competition will be held as part of the 'Animation Masters Summit 2017', the prestigious annual animation event organised in May in the state capital, said a company official.

Toonz Animation Group CEO P. Jayakumar said: "The Flying Elephant is a symbolic representation of providing creativity wings to spread, fly and create the most innovative and interesting story in animation which can surpass any border and culture and reach out to one and all alike.

"It is with this aim we have announced the third edition of the Flying Elephant Animation Awards and invited nominations from animation artistes from across the world," said Jayakumar.

Toonz invites entries in four categories -- Animation Short Films, Animation Feature Films, Students Short Films and Live Action Short Film.

The competition is open to individuals, studios and students and will close on April 10.

The 12 shortlisted films will be then evaluated by the visiting masters during the Animation Masters Summit.
