The national capital experienced a chilly, cloudy Friday while dense fog early morning affected flights and trains. The weather is likely to remain similar Saturday, the Met Office said.
According to an official of the Northern Railway, a total of 30 trains coming to Delhi were running late while 32 trains leaving the national capital were rescheduled due to fog. No train was cancelled.
The fog also hit flights but marginally. Three departures were delayed by more than 15 minutes but no flight was diverted or cancelled, an official at the capital's IGI airport said.
Visibility in Delhi at 8.30 a.m. was 200 meters, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The Met Office has forecast no respite from the fog and chill Saturday.
"There will be dense fog in the morning tomorrow (Saturday) and the day will be cloudy. The mist will return in the evening," said an IMD official.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 17 and 7 degrees Celsius
Friday remained cloudy and chills as the maximum temperature was recorded six notches below the season's average at 16.4 degrees while the minimum settled a notch below the season's average at 7.4 degrees Celsius.
The day's maximum humidity was recorded at 100 percent.
Thursday was similar with the maximum temperature settling five notches below the season's average at 17.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 7.4 degrees Celsius, slightly below the season's average.
