France's football team captain Hugo Lloris was in tears at the national tribute held on Monday in Nice, in honour of the 84 people killed and more than 300 wounded in the attack last Thursday.
The Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper, a native of Nice, was accompanied by his wife Marine, among some 42,000 people who attended the poignant tribute, reports Efe.
Marine Lloris expressed her feelings about the tragedy through Twitter.
"My city has been attacked It is a total horror, Atrocious. We are devastated." she said following it with "My sadness is infinite. My heart is broken."
The tribute was also attended by French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, Health Minister Marisol Touraine, and the Secretary of State for victims' support, Juliette Meadel, among others.
