Refreshing its budget segment, Samsung India on Wednesday launched Galaxy On7 Prime -- the first smartphone from the South Korean tech giant that comes with a "Make for India" feature named Samsung Mall.
The 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant is priced at Rs 14,990 while the 3GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage variant will cost Rs 12,990. Both the variants come with microSD card slots to expand memory up to 256GB.
The device will be available on Amazon.in and Samsung Shop. The first sale of the device will go live on January 21 during the Amazon "Great Indian Sale".
"Samsung Mall does all the smart work and exactly finds out the product within five seconds. It makes use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for doing this," Sanjay Razdan, Director (Product Planning), Samsung India told reporters at the event, also attended by Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon.
The feature allows users to shop by shooting a product on the smartphone, finding out the best online deals and pay-as-you-go.
Available in graphite black and champagne gold, the device comes with a 5.5-inch screen with 2.5D Gorilla Glass in an 8-mm full metal unibody design.
The smartphone features a 13MP (f/1.9) rear camera with LED flash and a 13MP (f/1.9) front shooter.
It is powered by a 1.6 GHz Exynos Octa-Core processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage.
Users can also do "One-stop Shop" that lets them search and shop across multiple online shopping sites.
"Samsung Mall is the perfect companion for today's consumers," said Sandeep Singh Arora, Vice President, Samsung India.
The feature let's users do "Visual Search" that is, click a picture of any product and then Samsung Mall shows search results of similar products from across online shopping sites.
Meanwhile, "Universal Cart" lets users add items from multiple online shopping sites and review them in a single cart.
Reliance Jio users will get an exclusive cashback of Rs 2,000 in their JioMoney account after recharging with a denomination of Rs 299 for 24 months.
Users will get Rs 800 after the first 12 months and Rs 1,200 after the subsequent 12 months in their JioMoney account after 13 recharges worth Rs 299 every 12 months.
