George Martin's final project to be screened at SXSW fest

Legendary music producer George Martin's last project "Soundbreaking: Stories from the Cutting Edge of Recording Music" that he worked on before his death, will be screened at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conferences and Festival in Austin, Texas.

The Public Broadcasting Service's (PBS) documentary will later premiere on November 14 on PBS.

The first two instalments of the eight-episode series will be screened on Wednesday and Friday as part of the festival's "24 Beats Per Second" line-up. One part of the series was screened on Monday at the fest, which started on March 11 and will go on till March 20.

The series combines access to celebrated music artists, producers and innovators and rare archival studio footage for a behind-the-scenes look at the birth of brand new sounds. It will chronicle inventions like the microphone, moog synthesizer, phonograph and digital streaming.

Martin is credited as the figure who made "Soundbreaking" come to life for producer-directors Maro Chermayeff and Jeff Dupre of the New York-based production banner Show of Force.

Martin, the influential producer behind most of the Beatles' recordings, died on March 8 at the age of 90.
