The German national team took advantage of Peru's defensive errors to win a match that started with a great goal by Peru's Luis Advincula, in a friendly played here.
The match on Sunday was only the second time Germany and Peru have met in 48 years, the first time was in the 1970 World Cup, when Germany beat Peru 3-1 with a Gerd Mueller hat-trick, reports Efe news.
Ricardo Gareca's team opened the scoring after 22 minutes with a goal from Advincula, who showed his speed to overcome the German defence and then beat German goalie Marc-Andre Ter Stegen with a powerful shot.
The former world champions reacted quickly, thanks to a mistake from Peru that Julian Brandt took advantage of, after receiving a pass from Toni Kroos in the 25th minute.
The German team continued to pressurise Peru in their area to increase the score, but goalkeeper Pedro Gallese was attentive and managed to block shots from Reus and Gundogan.
For their part, striker Jefferson Farfan led Peru's attack, but was sometimes left alone in front of the German goal waiting for a teammate to assist him.
In the second half, Farfan wasted two chances to increase Peru's lead when he missed a header and an Advincula pass.
The German team also missed the chance to score from a free kick when Petersen struck poorly on the rebound.
However, Nico Schulz enjoyed a dream international debut when he scored Germany's second goal after 84 minutes, which slipped out of Gallese's hands after the inaction of the Peruvian defence.
With this result, Ricardo Gareca's team suffered their second friendly defeat after losing to the Netherlands during their current European tour.
