Accra, April 24 (IANS) Oil production from Ghana's Tweneboa Enyenra and Ntomme (TEN) oil field is expected to be 76,000 barrels per day and 50 million standard cubic feet of gas at peak production, state owned Ghana National Petroleum Corporation said here.

Addressing the opening session of the Fourth Ghana Summit and Exhibition on oil and gas, Nana Boakye Asafu-Adjaye, chief executive officer (CEO) of the company, said Tuesday that development of the field is expected to begin this year while first oil from the field is slated for early as 2016, reported Xinhua.

In addition to TEN, the CEO said the Sankofa and Gye Nyame fields, also located in the offshore Tano/Cape Three Points basin, will be developed on an integrated basis, starting from 2016/2017, with Italian multinational oil and gas company ENI being the operator.

With appraisal of the non-associated gas discovery completed, and that of the oil discovery ongoing, Asafu-Adjaye projected a higher national production plateau when production from the two fields comes on stream.

The Jubilee Field, which was put on stream in November 2010, has sustained average production of about 110,000 barrels per day over the last three months, representing an increase of about 40,000 barrels per day over the 2012 production average.
