Seasoned Indian golfer S.S.P. Chawrasia feels that 2015 has been a good year for him but wants to end the season with a tournament win.
The 37-year-old has had three top-10 finishes out of 12 tournaments he participated in the Asian Tour this year including a runner-up spot at the Indian Open in New Delhi. He finished 10th at the Malaysian Open and tied sixth at the Queen's Cup in Thailand.
Chawrasia, who is currently ranked fourth in the Order of Merit with earnings of $318,472, will next contest at the Ho Tram Open here from December 3 to 6.
"My year has been good with several top finishes but of course I would like to win a tournament before the year concludes," the Kolkata-based golfer said on Wednesday.
Chawrasia has enjoyed one of his best seasons to date but wants a win to put the icing on the cake. The three-time winner on the Asian Tour has also never won outside India and hopes to get it right here.
The inaugural $1.5 million Ho Tram Open will be held at the award-winning The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip course, located about a two-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City.
"I've heard a lot of wonderful things about The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip course and I can't wait to get there for the Ho Tram Open," added Chawrasia.
Chawrasia will be among the top Asian Tour stars taking aim at the tourney which has attracted Filipino Angelo Que, Spaniard Sergio Garcia, Europe's Ryder Cup and EurAsia Cup team captain Darren Clarke and Asia's first Major champion Y.E. Yang.
Australia's Scott Hend and Andrew Dodt, currently second and third in the Merit list, are also tipped to contend here.
