The sports ministry on Wednesday approved financial assistance of around 5,000 euros to India's lone individual Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra to train in Germany from September 1 to 11.
The assistance for the shooter comes from the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF).
"Release of 90 percent of the estimated cost as advance has also been approved. The expenditure will be met from the budget allocated to Abhinav Bindra under Target Olympic Podium (TOP) Scheme," said a ministry release.
The fund provided is for stock personalisation for rifle (2,500 euros), ammunition test (1,000 euros), biomechanical analysis (500 euros), sports medicine (1,000 euros) in addition to air travel.
