Government got Rs.13,214.50 crore revenue from telcos till October

The government has received revenue of Rs.13,214.50 crore in various forms - licence fee, spectrum charges and others - from different telecom companies operating in the country till October 2013 for the financial year 2013-14, Milind Deora, minister of state for communications and information technology said here Wednesday.

In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, he said the government garnered Rs.8,130.93 crore toward licence fee till October 2013; from spectrum charges it mopped up Rs.4,941.79 crore and other receipts was to the tune of Rs.141.78 crore.
