Union Minister Jayant Sinha on Friday said that tax under the GST (Goods and Services Tax) regime on commodities used by common people has been kept as low as possible.
According to the Minister of State for Civil Aviation, luxury goods will be taxed at a higher rate under GST. Sinha was speaking at the Aaj Tak GST Conclave.
Sinha said that the central government wants "revenue neutrality" and is working to simplify the GST in the coming days.
The minister termed GST as "Gangtantra ka Suvedha Tantra", as digital invoicing, e-tax filing are expected to "make life a lot easier" for every genuine tax payer.
