The Islamic Hamas movement said on Tuesday that it is ready to resume a dialogue with Fatah.

The remarks were made by Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh at the Rafah border crossing on his return from Egypt, after 11 days of talks with Egyptian security officials on the Palestinian internal reconciliation, Xinhua reported.

"We are ready to receive the consensus government and we are ready to get back to Cairo in a few days to resume the dialogue with Fatah movement," said Haniyeh.

According to Haniyeh, his senior Hamas delegation discussed the political and security situation, Jerusalem, Israeli policies and the bilateral ties with Egypt during the past 11 days in the the most populous Arab country.

Hamas announced earlier that it had dissolved an administrative committee used to manage the daily affairs in Gaza. The forming of the committee had outraged Fatah leader Abbas, who insisted that it should be resolved in order to resume the dialogue with Hamas.

"We exerted tremendous effort and we moved in all directions in order to end the suffering of our people in Gaza through the gate of reconciliation and achieving unity," said the Hamas leader.

Haniyeh called on Abbas' Fatah Party to carry out equivalent steps, including the cancellation of all the unprecedented measures against Gaza.

"The administrative committee now is not active and doesn't practice its activities in Gaza anymore," he noted.
