Olympique Lyon's Jimmy Briand has joined Hannover till June 2015, the Bundesliga football club said.
Hannover has strengthened their offence with the Frenchman, who received the jersey No.21 after signing a one-year deal Friday, reports Xinhua.
The Frenchman played from 2003 until 2010 for Stade Rennais before he joined Olympique Lyon to score 22 goals in 110 appearances.
"Jimmy Briand can play on both wings and also as a centre forward. We needed a player for this position and I am convinced that we have found good solution," Hannover's manager Dirk Dufner told the club's website.
The 29-year-old has five caps for the French national team. Hannover completed the last season at the 10th place in Bundesliga standings.
