Seamer Harmanpreet Kaur picked up four wickets for match figures of nine for 85 as India defeated South Africa by an innings and 34 runs in the one-off Test match on the fourth and concluding day here Wednesday.
Following on after conceding a first innings lead of 166 runs, South Africa resumed their innings at 83 for six and lost their remaining four wickets, all of which fell to Kaur, as the Indians completed a comprehensive win.
The only resistance that the visiting side could offer was a 53-run partnership for the seventh wicket between Trish Chetty (35) and Chloe Tryon (30), before Kaur struck telling blows as the visitors lost the last four wickets for just 12 runs.
