The national capital woke up to a hazy morning on Saturday, with weather experts saying the haze will continue for another 3-4 days.
The maximum temperature of the day was recorded at 29 degrees Celsius, normal for the season's average.
"Delhi will continue to see haze for some more days. As the season is changing, the air will be full of smog, mixture of fog and smoke caused by the air pollution.
"We call it a mix type of weather which is more common during the arrival of winters," said Charan Singh, an officer with the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to the IMD, Sunday may see a cloudy day. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 28 and 16 degrees Celsius respectively.
Saturday's minimum temperature was recorded at 16.1 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
The IMD said if the weather condition continues to remain the same in Delhi, there might be problems in the arrival and departure of trains and flights.
Mahesh Palawat, a spokesperson with Skymet, a private weather forecasting institution, said northern India was likely to witness strong winds in the next week or so, which will clear the weather.
