Bogota, Feb 25 (IANS/EFE) Four soldiers died in a helicopter crash in central Colombia that was apparently caused by bad weather, the army said Monday.
The accident occurred in Mesetas, a city in Meta province, while the soldiers were providing air support to troops fighting the guerrilla group, Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC.
The chopper got caught in some trees, an army spokesperson told reporters.
It is not yet known how the aircraft ended up flying so close to the tree line, the spokesperson said.
