AC Milan outplayed Hellas Verona 4-1 in late season action in Serie A, making official Hellas's relegation to Serie B, the Italian league's second division.
Milan on Saturday dominated the contest from nearly start to finish and took the lead at San Siro with a goal by Hakan Calhanoglu in the 10th minute, reports Efe.
Hellas then gave up two more goals by Milan forward Patrick Cutrone (32nd minute) and defender Ignazio Abate (49th minute) before substitute Lee Seung-woo notched the visitors' lone score in the 85th minute.
However, Milan boosted its lead back to three goals on a strike by substitute Fabio Borini in the 89th minute.
With the win, AC Milan has 60 points and has provisionally leapfrogged Atalanta into sixth place in Serie A, a spot that would earn them a berth in the Europa League's second qualifying round.
Hellas, for its part, will bid farewell to Serie A just one season after earning its promotion to the top-tier league.
