Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh inaugurated on Monday a bridge across Beas river in Kangra district, an official said.
Built at a cost of Rs.10 crore, the bridge links Hamirpur and Kangra districts.
Virbhadra Singh said on the occasion that the road network in Himachal Pradesh had grown from about 300 km when the state was formed more than 60 years ago to 34,000 km now.
The octogenarian Congress leader also advised the people to contest the panchayat elections on a non-partisan basis and not on any political party symbol.
Adequate compensation would be provided to the people who had donated their land to the bridge project, he said.
