It was 579 million units more than the power station's designed capacity, R.P. Singh, chairman and managing director of Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. (SJVNL), the company that owns and operates the plant, said in a statement.
The generation capacity of the plant located in the Kinnaur district is 6,612 million units.
The project generates 38 million units of energy daily, which is supplied to Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
