Hindi pop band Malhaar on Thursday unveiled "Gangaji", a song to create awareness about the increase in pollution levels in the Ganga.
Formed in early 2000, the band's songs are inspired from nature. Their songs carry messages that spread awareness about communal harmony and environmental concerns.
Their latest launch is "Gangaji", a contemporary Hindi song and music video, read a statement from Times Music, which has released it.
As residents of Uttarakhand, the band members -- Nailaya Mishra, Amit Lakhwa, Sunil Rautela and Madhav Chandel -- feel strongly about the need to save the Ganga.
They travelled from Gomukh till Varanasi to shoot a music video that showcases the importance of the river to the local communities.
