The HRD ministry has sent a letter to the Delhi University registrar asking for a para-wise reply to the allegations of irregularities and anomalies against the VC levelled by Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA).
The ministry of human resource development (HRD) letter dated Aug 25 reads: "...It is requested that para-wise comment on each of the issues is sent at the earliest on the alleged anomalies and irregularities on the functioning of the university, as per the complaint put forward by DUTA."
DUTA, an elected body of the university, Aug 6 had released a "white paper" on the alleged irregularities and violation of the Delhi University Act by Vice Chancellor (VC) Dinesh Singh and alleged he misused funds to the tune of Rs.2,000 crore.
DUTA had submitted the white paper to the HRD ministry Aug 21 on which a response has been sought from the varsity.
The same paper has also been submitted to the Visitor of the university, who is the president of India.
